Its International Day Of Happiness!

In the hustle and bustle, In the race of life, surrounded by good and the bad, Friends and foes, why is it that one forgets the essence of life? the sole purpose of life? The one life which is given by the almighty.

Gautama Buddha righteously said "Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are. It solely relies on what you think." For the modern readers out here, swapping words here and there is a similar phrase which all must have heard, but I'm sure very few must really have understood how deep and heavy it actually is.
For Life is'nt actually about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning to dance in the rain. And I think the moto of UN making this day as International day of happiness must have been to remind us wherever we are, whatever is the problem, one shouldn't forget to live the moment and learn to give time some time, For the time is the best healer.

As per the WHO statistics, 6% of the population is suffering from depression. This is definitely a huge number of group out there. So what can be done to overcome the depression? How can one try to be happy? Before telling you all what I do, here are my Friends take on this.

"Pain is everywhere, so what could one do to overcome it? Well!! I'm no expert but I have learnt that sadness always decreases with sharing. Share it with ur trusted friends, family members etc doesn't matter if that person can do anything about it, just make sure u can trust them with your privacy and that they won't judge you. If none of these work you can always start up a blog and rant about things like I do. :p You can always seek a psychologist or a psychiatrist's help. Happiness is there, it's a little overrated though, but you can seek it."

"In the world today, it is really difficult to find happiness. Difficult but not impossible. when I feel low, I just cannot concentrate on anything, all the task turn into a mess. And now you will ask what I do then? I switch on to something I like, I paint. That's my hobby. I really don't understand why people stop doing them as they grow up? There is a reason why they are called as "hobby" It is an amazing tool to distract yourself. refresh your brain and get back to the problem with a fresh mind. so even now, when I am busy and all stressed up with my internship and my post graduation classes, I am ready with another of my artwork- Mystical Solace, for the International Day of happiness"

Coming back to me, what I do when I am depressed is Calligraphy! haha, definitely not a difficult nut to crack. But to tell you all, I too had left my hobby back when I joined Med school. I eventually realised how important it is and how refreshing it is and started doing it again. It actually is a stress buster!  And when it comes to sharing problems I completely agree with Jha and the only poor soul who tolerates it is my friend, who drew this beautiful painting on the spot when I requested her to.

I really hope all my readers here find this article helpful and we have compelled you all to ponder on this.
