An ode to a flickering soul
I made this 2-3 weeks back at around 10:30 pm when there was a blackout in our locality as the weather changed unexpectedly. After a long 45 minutes of thundering and lightning, it began to rain. It was quite unusual because at this time of the month our city is in the middle of tremendous scorching summer heat.
It wasn't that long when I saw all the children in our society getting wet and playing in the ground, enjoying the little souvenir nature had to offer. The water droplets fell like they simply could not think of anything better to do. There was a gentle breeze and the whole atmosphere radiated calmness and tranquillity. I simply couldn't think of doing anything but writing this down. I took a paper and kept it beside the candle pondering on what should I write. Especially, when this tiny little candle was my only safeguard and no one knew when the light would be back. Obviously, quotes were out of the question. Spending another 15 minutes, I decided to write what was in front of me. It flickered as the cold wind passed by, seemed a lot fragile yet strong enough to lighten the whole room, standing aloof, A beautiful little candle.
